Give To Get Wellness In Life And Business

What are you willing to give for your own wellness-that state of “well-being”? In this context giving is to give in relation to outside you versus being referred to as a giving person.

We can write a check as a donation to our favorite charity or we can give advice to a person. We can give words of encouragement; give congratulations, condolences, ad infinitum. Is this how you give?

Take a closer look at the times you wrote that check for a charitable organization or spoke those words of encouragement. The action or gesture of giving was good. How did you feel and how did the receiver of your words and actions feel. Now go a step further-down another level. Did your heart race, did you lose weight, did you feel ecstatic, where you smiling for the next week, month or year as a result of your action and the other person  felt likewise? Keep in mind the principles and theory that everything is connected-everything is one. For example, picture the twin who develops a headache when her sibling receives a blow to the head, although they are separated by hundreds of miles. Or, two unrelated persons where one is sick and lives on the east coast and the other person were praying for her, lives in Germany. Her health improves with the energetic prayers of the person in Germany. Carl Yung, the psychiatrist, spoke about synchronicity and the physicist, John Stewart Bell, about identically charged pairs of particles, that when disconnected and the polarity of one particle is changed the other particle changes. Everything is connected-everything is one.

Now take some more steps—go deeper within. How did it impact your health and state of wellness when you gave? I can recall vividly how I felt during and after my medical volunteer work in New Orleans following the Katrina/Rita hurricanes. I “gave” authentically during my stay. I didn’t develop a cold as a result of the airplane ventilation nor as a result of the environmental changes in Louisiana. Read more about giving here

Returning to the question of how does giving make YOU feel? Generally speaking, giving has been found to boost the immune system, increase the flow of endorphins, result in smiling more; the positive vibrations you give off come back to you ten-fold, you interact more positive with people in the world. Over all you feel better and you set the stage for living longer.

The people in the Blue Zones are “giving” people.  They are connected to the earth, have meaningful relationships and give of themselves to family and friends.

Give more, get wellness.

In what context have you given? How do you feel at this moment and time? How has giving changed your health?
