Health, wellness and happiness are very interrelated. As the number of women who own and operate businesses increases daily, so does the need for their self-care. Women are not only responsible for the health of their business; they might also be care givers for a parent or parents, children and/ or another family member. Self-care is one of the most important components of a wellness program for business owners and non-business owners.

Self-care habits can include a daily walk, pausing, deep breathing, meditation, yoga, frequent breaks from looking at the computer monitor, drinking an adequate amount of water, listening to music, spending time with children. You get the idea. It’s not about buying and owning things but taking responsibility for your health, wellness and well-being. It includes, but is not limited to, movement (exercise), nutrition (eating), playing, working (business) and finding meaning and peace in the midst of chaos. Sounds like energy? Yes, because everything is energy and one component has a resounding effect on the other component.
Foregoing your daily walking jolt or dose of yoga or that drink of water can affect how you think, feel and communicate with your clients, customers and family members during the day.
When you reverse that behavior you think clearer, you are more creative, energetic and you’re able to focus on business matters, clients and family.
You’ve heard, thoughts become things. Think health, wellness and happiness for yourself, your family and your business!
What does self-care mean to you? Is self-care included in your lifestyle and business plans?
